Some people asked me to compare the Epson 3000Z and the Aiptek. It could be possible to adquire 10 Aiptek (count 60$) for the price of a single Epson (it's now 2 years old tech) but the comparizon was a smart idea.

To do so, I tested both cameras on same scenes during April. Please note the Aiptek resolution is 1248pix large so I actually scaled down the 2048pix raw Epson image into 1248pix. I also shooted the same scenes with my La Ronde but this last proved to be untuned. I have to get its lens tuned for the next time.

This test surprisingly revealed some decent performance for the cheapo Aiptek (white background) but also showed its limits compared to a more sophisticated cam (gray background). I now consider the Aiptek as a very valuable gadget.
