OLY3
was designed in order to operate the 100g digicam smoothly ... The
plane flys with a simple geared spd400,
7x 800AR cells and a Schulze Slim24be
controller. 2 Hitec HS80 servos were used along with a Graupner FM
Rx.
It's
overal take-off weight is 850g w/o payload and under 1050g with its
max payload. The 26dm² wing comes from my brave Scorpio Miss2
park flyer and the fuselage was completely scratch-built for this
use.
This
plane proved to be very easy to use and surprisingly efficient. I
was not convinced by the given power/weight ratio but flights were
on the rails and the long rear arm keeps it very easy to control even
in tight turns.
Some
light fiberglass cloth (50g/m²) was applied on the front section
with Poly-urethane varnish in order to strenghten it without adding
noticeable weight. This technic was a success on this plane.
